RIP - Bill Aitchison

It’s with sadness we inform you of the death of Bill Aitchison.  Bill joined the Onslow Rifle Club with his wife Coral in the early 80s.  He involved himself fully in the life of the club, also serving as President.  He was a member of the NRANZ Executive Committee and an NRANZ Delegate to the NZ Shooting Federation.  In the early 90s he took a leadership role in encouraging and training age group shooters for Oceania Shooting competition.  

He was a man with a dry sense of humour, interested in people and a good communicator.

He has been involved in many shooting disciplines, lately he has been shooting 3 gun events, pistol shooting and F-PR in the Wairarapa.  He shot 300m in Europe when working there.  He led a NZ Black Powder team to a World Championship.

In 2018 he again supported NRANZ when he took on the role as Volunteer Co-ordinator for the 2019 World Champs at Trentham.  It was special that the old Onslow Rifle Club building was the headquarters the volunteers worked from.  Bill had active support from Coral in that role.  They were a great team together.
